  • Sarpabali – A powerful ritual performed to remove serpent curses and bring peace.

  • Ayilya Pooja – Conducted on the Ayilyam star, considered auspicious for serpent worship.

Collective Sarpabali Yajna and Mahapayasa Homam :

This is a grand event organized by the temple authorities with the active participation of devotees. Devotees may participate in both rituals by making the desired offerings, or they can opt to take a half or full share of the entire pooja.

Vellari Choriyal/ Vellariyidal :

This is a special offering made to serpent gods. Unakkalari (raw rice) and coconut are offered to the Naga gods along with Ashtanivedyam during the daily poojas.

Noorum Palum :

This offering is considered equivalent to an elixir and is believed to greatly appease the Naga gods. It is a sacred mixture made of turmeric powder, rice powder, cow’s milk, and tender coconut water.

Sarparoopa Pooja:

This pooja is part of the Nithyapooja (daily ritual). A serpent-shaped idol or mould is placed at the feet of Nagaraja on the devotee’s birth star day.

Sarpadosha Parihara Pooja:

A person may be afflicted by Sarpa Dosha (serpent curse) due to knowingly or unknowingly harming a serpent in this or a previous lifetime. Those affected are advised to perform this remedial pooja, but only after a thorough astrological analysis. Therefore, before registering for the pooja, the devotee must present an astrological opinion to the temple authorities.

To begin the ritual, a serpent mould made of pure gold, silver, or copper is required. To ensure the purity of the metal, it is recommended to have the mould custom-made by a goldsmith rather than purchasing one from ready-made stock.

Sarpa Paattu:

Also known as Pulluvan Paattu, this is a traditional ritual art form popular in Kerala. It is performed by the Pulluvar community, who create a unique form of music in praise of the snake gods, their presiding deities, using a self-made orchestra.
