Other Religious Observances Inside the Temple – Pampadi Pambum Kavu (Sree Nagaraja Kshetram)

  1. Vishukkani:
On the first day of the Malayalam month Medam, the temple’s elder (referred to as the “Grandma of the temple”) distributes Vishukkaineetam to the devotees.

  2. Observance of Ramayana Month:
Begins on the first day of the Malayalam month Karkkidakam.

  3. Illam Nira:
Observed on the first Sunday after Karkkida Vaavu (the new moon day of Karkkidakam). This auspicious ritual is performed in many temples to invoke Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of Prosperity, into newly harvested paddy spikes, which are then distributed to devotees.
Additionally, Thripputhari rites are observed on the Ayilyam day in the month of Chingam. During this ritual, the freshly harvested rice is used to prepare Puthari Nivedyam – an offering to the deities.

  4. Vidyarambham:
On the auspicious day of Vijayadasami, children are initiated into the world of letters at the temple.
Forty-one days before this event, Mahasaraswatha Ghrutham is prepared with devotion while chanting the Mahasaraswatha Sooktham. This is distributed freely, especially to students, on Vidyarambham day.

  5. Devapurana Yajnam:
Commences on the first day of the Malayalam month Vrischikam.
Yajna poojas are conducted based on the 18 Puranas, through six significant segments:
